Today, more and more people resort to removing unwanted hair from particular parts of the body.
Laser hair removal is a permanent solution to this problem.
There are 3 phases of hair growth: the growth phase, the regression phase and the resting phase. The laser beam can act on and destroy only hair in the growth phase, which is exactly why several treatments are needed in order to destroy all the hair.
During the treatment, the laser beam is brought into contact with the skin. As the beam passes through the skin, it is predominantly absorbed by melanin (the pigment found in the hair and the skin). As a result of the absorption, strong heating occurs and the cells that produce the hair are damaged, provided the hair is in the growth phase. The surface of the skin is cooled by a special device that blows cold air onto the treatment area, which makes this procedure painless.
For a facial treatment, 5-6 treatments are needed, for the legs 3-4 treatments, etc. The treatments should be carried out at intervals of about 2 months.
Instructions before the treatment:
1. It is not advisable to pluck the hairs for 2 weeks beforehand, only to shave
2. The day before the treatment, the area where epilation will be performed must be shaved
3. It is not advisable to expose the parts of the body that will be treated with the laser to the sun for a month before the treatment
4. On the day of the treatment, the skin must be clean, without make-up, cream, perfume, etc.
Instructions after the treatment:
1. The skin may be slightly red – this usually passes very quickly
2. Exposure to the sun, tanning beds and self-tanning creams is prohibited for the next month
3. The destroyed hairs will gradually emerge and fall out over the next 3 weeks
4. Between treatments, the hairs should only be shaved
