Vistabel is a purified form of botulinum toxin that works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals to the muscles, preventing their contractions. In aesthetic medicine it is most often used to smooth wrinkles in the upper third of the face – particularly on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes. Beyond aesthetic indications, Vistabel is also highly effective in treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the armpits, palms and feet. The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis, takes only a few minutes and is almost painless thanks to prior anaesthesia with a numbing cream or skin cooling.
