Ear surgery

The projection and shape of the auricle complete the overall appearance of the head and face. These changes can therefore become a source of dissatisfaction with one’s own appearance and a cause of complexes. Children with protruding ears are often the target of ridicule by their peers at school. Since the growth of the ear is complete by the fifth year of life, this deformity can be corrected fairly early.

The procedure is preceded by the necessary tests, which are extended further if the patient decides on surgery under general anaesthesia.

We almost always perform this operation under local anaesthesia, given the strong motivation of children to correct this imperfection.

The operation lasts about an hour or a little longer.

After the procedure, patients leave the clinic with written instructions and a bandage around the head, which is worn for the next 5–6 days. After that, it is recommended to wear a sports headband overnight for the following three weeks.
