Overly large labia minora can create problems during sexual intercourse upon penetration by the male genitalia, causing pain if part of the labium minus is drawn into the vagina at the same time.
Enlarged labia can be an aesthetic problem, both in front of a partner and in front of others in nudism, due to their prominence when wearing tight clothing pressed against the body, etc.
Reduction of the labia minora (labiaplasty) is a procedure that resolves this problem under local anaesthesia.
After the necessary preparation has been carried out, the labia are reduced to the desired size, taking care that on each side a part of the labium remains which has its function during urination and in directing the urine stream, and as a natural barrier in front of the vagina.
After the procedure, the patient goes home with the written instructions provided. It is important to take care of personal hygiene every day. Sexual intercourse and masturbation are prohibited until the wounds have completely healed and the sutures have been resorbed.
