Fibromas are benign growths on the skin. They appear as small, soft nodules on the skin. They are often attached by a small stalk. They are usually skin-colored and range from a few millimeters to several centimeters in diameter.
These changes are not malignant, but they tend to increase in number over time and can become an aesthetic concern.
They most often develop in middle age, mainly in areas where the skin rubs, such as the neck, groin and armpit area, under the breasts, and on the abdomen.
The exact cause is unknown, but their number tends to increase throughout life. Heredity and excess body weight are important factors in their development.
