Skin tightening

Extremity lift – skin tightening of the arms and legs

If there is loose skin on the extremities, part of the skin together with the associated fat tissue can be removed with tightening, on the principle of a lift.

Such loose skin on the inner side of the thigh can also be the result of more radical liposuction of that region. The incision and the postoperative scar are visible at the groin itself.

If there is excess skin on the upper arms, an operation called brachioplasty is performed. The incision is located on the inner side of the upper arm.

The procedures are usually performed under so-called local tumescent anaesthesia, but can also be carried out under general anaesthesia. The patient’s preparation depends on the choice of anaesthesia.

After the operation, a compression garment must be worn for the next few weeks.

Scars should be cared for according to instructions so that they are as aesthetically acceptable as possible.
