Laser removal of keratoses

Removal of keratoses with the erbium laser – fast, effective and painless

Keratoses are common skin changes in older people that develop as a result of chronic exposure to UV rays. They are usually multiple and distributed across the face, chest, back and abdomen.

At first they are usually round or oval changes, rough to the touch and yellowish-brown in colour. Over time they progress from softer to hard, dark-coloured changes, ranging in size from a few millimetres to a few centimetres. It is advisable to remove them while they are smaller, as they tend to spread.

At our Poliklinika we successfully remove them with the erbium laser. The procedure is fast and painless. A small scab forms at the site of the intervention and falls off after a few days.
