Vistabel therapy

Its action in humans is to bind to the nerve endings that trigger the muscle movement, thereby preventing the excretion of substances that cause muscle contractions. In 1989, Vistabel treatment was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration as a treatment for excessive muscular spasms. In 2002, the US Department of Health and Nutrition granted permission to use this drug in aesthetic medicine, where Vistabel is most commonly used to paralyze muscle activity in the upper third of the face. This successfully smooths out the wrinkles in this region. Excessive sweating in the armpits, palms and thighs is also treated with Vistabel. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. First, the area to be treated is cleaned and disinfected and can also be sprayed with anaesthetic cream or cooled before injecting Vistabel. In such a way the injection is almost painless.

In these treatments, in order to achieve the desired result, it is extremely important to know well the anatomy and muscle function of the areas to which Vistabel is applied. After injecting, the client should remain in an upright position for at least four hours to keep the Vistabel in the desired locations, and during this time the treated area should not be massaged. The effect of this treatment is usually visible after a few days and it lasts up to several months.
