Blepharoplasty
According to the old proverb which states that the eyes are a window to the soul, it is necessary for the excessive skin and eye puffiness not to block one's view, or rather to remove those ugly curtains.
About the procedure – the excess skin and, if necessary, the adipose tissue from fatty body deposits is removed by a radiowave knife, using techniques which leave minimal scars.
Before the procedure, the patient needs to arrange a consultation with the physician who will assess which of the pre-operative tests the patient needs to carry out with respect to his or her general medical condition and age.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia with or without sedation, which improves the comfort of both the patient and the physician. Following the procedure, the patient is required to apply ice packs to his or her eyelids, in order to reduce the post-operative swelling and speed up the healing process. After a few hours, the patient is discharged home with written post-operative instructions. The skin is sewn using absorbable suture which does not need to be removed later on, because it dissolves within a week.
The patients can return to their usual activities and apply makeup after 8-10 days following the procedure.
