In case of the excessive skin in the upper arm, the Brachioplasty procedure is performed. The incision is located in the inner part of the upper arm.
The procedure is usually carried out under the tumescent local anaesthesia, but it can also be carried out under the general anaesthesia. The pre-operative testing depends on the selected type of anaesthesia which is to be used.
Following the procedure, the patient can go home with the recommendation of wearing the corset for the following several weeks.
The scars should be treated according to the instructions given, in order to make them aesthetically acceptable.
