Laser Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags and plantar warts are some of the common skin infections. They are benign skin growths on the top layer of the skin, caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which causes a rapid growth of cells. They are contagious. Therefore, it is necessary to start treatment as soon as possible, in order to prevent their further spreading.
Skin tags usually appear on the hands, knees and elbows, with a rough surface resembling a cauliflower.
Plantar warts are similar to skin tags, but they usually occur on the soles of the feet, heels and toes. They are usually flat and covered by a rough skin.
At the Polyclinic, we have been successfully performing the skin tag removal procedure using two types of lasers. First, we remove the surface layer of the affected skin with the Er:Yag laser, and after that we destroy the root of the skin tag with the Nd:Yag laser. Usually one treatment is enough, and only in rare cases the procedure needs to be repeated after one month.
