Lip Cosmetic Surgery (Lip Augmentation)
Lips are a visually important part of the face. Their fullness contributes to the impression of sensuality and it emphasises the female beauty.
The standard lip augmentation procedures have been abandoned a long time ago. All the cosmetic surgery procedures are usually done by administering Hyaluronic Acid injections. This is an outpatient treatment, carried out in the local nerve block anaesthesia or by applying an anaesthetic cream. In order to obtain long-lasting results, the treatment should be repeated periodically, depending on the material used in the procedure. The results are immediately visible. It is recommended that the patient refrains from smoking for a brief period, and avoids kissing until the applied filler settles in the surrounding tissue.
For long-term results, lipofilling of the lips is performed. Adipose tissue is taken from the donor site (usually the abdomen), it is processed and transplanted into the lip by injections. It is necessary to make a hypercorrection, because the body will recognize a part of the adipose tissue as its own and it will resorb it. In order to achieve long-term results, the treatment should be repeated at least one more time, usually after three months. Thus, the effects will be long-lasting and will look natural.
The procedure is performed in the regional local anaesthesia, and after the treatment the patient can go home. It usually takes about one week for the swelling to go away, and the patient can go out in public.
