Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is a benign enlargement of the male breast that can result from an increase in fatty or glandular tissue, or a combination of both types of tissue.
If the breasts are too large in relation to the breast size, liposuction is usually sufficient. Thin cannulas are inserted through about 3 mm small incisions, through which the fatty tissue is removed. After the liposuction, a compression corset is worn for several weeks and after just two to three months you can see how much the skin has retracted and whether skin tightening is necessary.
If the gland is enlarged, a classic operation is performed and the gland is removed. The incision is usually made hidden at the junction of the nipple and the surrounding skin. Depending on the findings, a combination of both surgical methods is also possible.
Preoperative treatment includes all necessary tests and examinations for general anaesthesia, but the procedure can also be performed under local anaesthesia.
